Bridal portraits used to be an important part of the wedding process. The entry to the reception always had the formal portrait of the bride in her dress proudly displayed on a floor easel. Later it found a home on the parents’ dining or living room wall. Now only 10 percent of our brides have a bridal portrait taken, but doesn’t that once in a lifetime dress deserve one? In the past, the posing was regal on an Old Masters’ Background, with the focus on the dress. Although our training allows us to create images worthy of a bridal fashion magazine, we add a whimsical flare to many of the pictures. This mixture of formal and candid “posing” makes for a wonderful sitting and the creation of keepsakes for the bride and her parents.
